Jemmi Hazeman & The Honey Riders
Jemmi Hazeman is the musical alter-ego of Jeff Yateman, a songwriter, producer & multi-instrumentalist from Somewhere in the Middle of Nowhere in Michigan. Prior to establishing his musical identity as Jemmi Hazeman, Yateman was a member of Detroit-scene indie bands Shady Groves & The Kodaks, formerly releasing material under the moniker Animate Daze. He released his first full-length album - Kozmic Maze - in April 2018.

Phaze by Jemmi Hazeman picks up where his debut album Kozmic Maze left off. After leaving Detroit indie "genre chameleons" Shady Groves, Yateman created an alter ego to connect people aurally through the cosmos.
Lush sonic soundscapes pull listeners through black holes of audio: perplexing, puzzling, pretty, profound and profane: there are no limits to what Yateman/Hazeman can create with his audio wizardry. The question is, where will his galactic quest lead him next?
Jemmi Hazeman & The Honey Riders released their second album Phaze in December of 2019 alongside another Hazeman-produced album for Underflow Records, Lazyeyez by "Aesop Rock-style" rhyme master and former Jeopardy! child prodigy, Dan Amboy.
Jemmi Hazeman & The Honey Riders live consists of Yateman / Hazeman on vocals, guitars, effects and keys/synths, plus Jamie Dulin on bass, saxophone and keys/synths, Colt Caron on piano, keyboards, synthesizers, effects, Desmond Doneen on guitars and Shane Fleisher on drums and percussion.
The live band, known as Jemmi Hazeman & The Honey Riders, complements Hazeman's nebulous indie-psych-prog-pop-rock sound, with a sonic palette encapsulating influences such as Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Flaming Lips, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, The Strokes & Tame Impala (and beyond), coalescing into an aural tableaux rife with groovy, spacey trippiness. The group’s live performance includes not only renditions of Hazeman’s recorded music, but also progressive & kaleidoscopic improvisational elements synergized by The Honey Riders.
Featuring members of the Shady Groves & Underflow families, friends of friends & upcoming stars, The Honey Riders have featured Caleb Nettles & currently James Dulin, Colt Caron, Desmond Doneen & Shane Fleisher. With an upcoming joint EP on the way in 2021, the sky can’t even limit where Hazeman & The Honey Riders can go.
